Traveling Mercy"You can kiss your family and friends good-bye and put miles between you, but at the same time you carry them with you in your heart, your mind, your stomach, because you do not just live in a world but a world lives in you."--Frederick Buechner

The Impostor Syndrome

I have heard about this before, but it came up again when Scot McKnight recently mentioned it on his blog.  I definitely think that I suffer from this "Impostor Syndrome," which apparently typically affects more women and graduate students.  Great, just great!  Now, what does one do about it?

A Belated Valentine

Here's a belated Valentine from Elaine and me.  We had fun making it in the snow!

Elaine's First Birthday

Earlier this month, we celebrated Elaine's first birthday.  Along with that anniversary came several "firsts" in Elaine's life like. . .

. . . her first birthday cake. . .

. . . her first birthday presents. . .

. . .  her first doll. . .

. . . her first birthday party, complete with a sing-a-long led by Drew. . .

. . . her first birthday puppet show, which Drew, Melanie, and I put on.

And here's the birthday girl with her parents getting ready to blow out another candle on the cupcakes that she had at her party.
